REPLICATE AND TRIAGE
Page Last Modified 02/07/2007.
Replicate is a system which is used mostly in hospital groups. It allows TraumaBank to send its data via Email to a 'Head Office' branch for absorption into the hospital's database. The data is encrypted for security. The result is a version of TraumaBank running at Head Office containing data from all its hospital branches. The Head Office can now print reports on all hospitals or a specific hospital and has instant access to any individual hospitals data.
The system uses Email to propogate data and does not need a 'dedicated line' between hospitals and Head Office. Each hospital sends data twice daily or at any predetermined time decided.
A program called a Log Manager runs at the same time as TraumaBank and it logs all inserts, changes and deletes to the specific hospital. The LogManager then sends this file to Head Office which then logs these changes. There is no additional charge for Replicate and it is included as standard.

SOUTH AFRICAN TRIAGE TOOL
TraumaBank incorporates the South African Triage system (formaly the Cape Triage system). The triage outcome is automatically calculated using the tool provided in TraumaBank. Click on the diagrams below for an expanded view.
The Triage sceen is used to automatically calculate the severity of the patient's condition and provide a guide as to the urgency of treatment. The triage officer simply enters the Mobility, Repiratory rate, Heart rate, Systolic BP, Temperature, AVPU and whether the patient is a Trauma case. The program automatically calculates the Tews Score. The Discriminator screen is then enabled and can be selected for a more accurate assesment.
A screen displaying all patients waiting to be treated with their relevant triage scores and expected treatment times is visible as shown below. When the patient is treated double clicking the Treatment Time column allows you to enter the actual time the patient was treated. The patient then dissapears off the list. Click on the diagram below for an expanded view.
