Scoring the severity of illness in intensive care medicine has become clinical routine. Besides their important role for scientific applications, scoring systems are also indispensable in the context of quality management and health economics. However manual compilation of the required data and calculation of scores and their derived variables is time consuming and may lead to errors.
With MediBank scores can be calculated effortlessly. The ICU report which ships with MediBank shows an average of all predicted death rates according to the ICU admission scores, then compares this to the actual death rate in your unit. Average, minimum and maximum vent days, dialysis and inotrope days are also displayed.
New scoring systems will be added in forthcoming updates.
The KES Score is an admission score developed in South Africa specifically for penetrating trauma.
